2008
CAMP MANAGER’S REPORT
The
Lord has blessed Acadian Baptist Center this past year. We have had good attendance and completed
some improvements. Thank you to all the staff,
ministers, volunteers, Board members and contributors that have made this
possible.
Construction will begin soon on the
Cafeteria multi-purpose building expansion.
We will need your continued support through donations and volunteers to
complete this task. Our second Family
Cabin has been completed and is open to ministers and their families as a
retreat haven at no charge. It is also
available for others at a nominal charge.
The purchase of 13.5 acres adjacent to ABC is exciting as it give us
more room for future expansion. This was
done without any debt being incurred.
The Outdoor Education ministry had a good
first year and is already booking additional groups for this school year. If you would like to help, let us know.
Once again, ABC opened its doors as a
shelter for Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
Over 100 people found a haven here, but only for a few days before
returning home. Your prayers are
encouraged as several retreat groups canceled as a result of the hurricanes and
significantly affected our income for the month of September.
In
His Service,
James Newsom
